Update of the avalanche report for Wednesday 18 December 2024.

Low avalanche danger will prevail.

all day it applies low avalanche danger, so danger level one.

The wind slabs of the weekend can be released in isolated cases on very steep shady slopes at elevated altitudes. The avalanche prone locations are clearly recognisable to the trained eye. Wind slabs are to be avoided especially in terrain where there is a danger of falling. As a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation individual small gliding avalanches and moist snow slides are possible.

And now the snowpack:

The snowpack will be moist at low and intermediate altitudes. The weather conditions as the day progresses will give rise to moistening of the snowpack on sunny slopes. In all altitude zones from a snow sport perspective, in most cases insufficient snow is lying.

We have the following danger patterns: dp.2: gliding snow.

The tendency for Thursday 19 December 2024 indicates a steady avalanche danger.

Have a nice day and don't forget to be careful!
