Avalanche report for Sunday 9 February 2025.
On shady slopes a moderate avalanche danger will be encountered in some regions.
all day it applies low avalanche danger, so danger level one.
all day, above the treeline, we have a persistent weak layer problem. Especially in the aspects West to North to East.
Furthermore, all day, above the treeline, we have a wind slab problem. Especially in the aspects West to North to East.
In some regions in some localities up to 15 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, will fall. Avalanches can in isolated cases be released, mostly by large loads in isolated cases, caution is to be exercised in particular in the regions with a lot of snow, and at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack, when entering gullies and bowls for example. The avalanche prone locations for dry avalanches are to be found in particular on steep northwest, north and northeast facing slopes above the tree line. Mostly avalanches are small.
And now the snowpack:
The fresh snow and the wind slabs that are forming in particular adjacent to ridgelines must be evaluated with care and prudence in particular on steep shady slopes and at high altitude. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on steep northwest to north to northeast facing slopes above approximately 1900 m.
The tendency for Monday 10 February 2025 indicates a steady avalanche danger.
Have a nice day and don't forget to be careful!
