Avalanche report for Sunday 9 February 2025.

A generally favourable avalanche situation will prevail.

all day it applies low avalanche danger, so danger level one.

Weak layers in the old snowpack can still be released in very isolated cases in particular in extremely steep terrain. Caution is to be exercised in particular on shady slopes above approximately 2200 m, and at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack, when entering gullies and bowls for example. The avalanches are rather small. Restraint should be exercised because avalanches can sweep people along and give rise to falls. On grassy slopes individual small to medium-sized gliding avalanches are possible. This applies on sunny slopes below approximately 2400 m, in particular in the west.

And now the snowpack:

The snowpack is largely stable. The southerly wind will transport only a little snow. As a consequence of mild temperatures and solar radiation a crust formed on the surface during the last few days, especially on steep sunny slopes. The snowpack will be soft on wind-protected shady slopes. Above the tree line snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind.

The tendency for Monday 10 February 2025 indicates a steady avalanche danger.

Have a nice day and don't forget to be careful!
