Fresh wind slabs require caution.

all day it applies low avalanche danger, so danger level one.

all day, above the treeline, we have a wind slab problem. Especially in the aspects North-West to North to North-East.

The fresh wind slabs can in isolated cases be released, even by a single winter sport participant, but they will be small in most cases. Such avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on steep shady slopes above the tree line. They are easy to recognise. On steep grassy slopes only isolated mostly small gliding avalanches are possible.

And now the snowpack:

Up to 10 cm of snow will fall. The fresh wind slabs are lying on soft layers in particular on steep shady slopes. The snowpack will be moist at low and intermediate altitudes.

The tendency for Thursday 27 February 2025 indicates a steady avalanche danger.
