Update of the avalanche report for Saturday 1 March 2025.

A generally favourable avalanche situation will prevail. Fresh wind slabs require caution.

all day it applies low avalanche danger, so danger level one.

The fresh wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant, but they will be small in most cases. This applies in particular in the east. The avalanche prone locations are rare but are easy to recognise. Such avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular adjacent to ridgelines at elevated altitudes. In the regions exposed to heavier precipitation more loose snow avalanches are to be expected as the day progresses, but they will be mostly small. On steep grassy slopes small to medium-sized gliding avalanches are possible. This applies in particular in the west and below approximately 2400 m.

And now the snowpack:

The small wind slabs are lying on soft layers in particular on steep shady slopes. The old snowpack will be moist at low and intermediate altitudes. Only a small amount of snow is lying for the time of year.

The tendency for Sunday 2 March 2025 indicates a steady avalanche danger.

Have a nice day and don't forget to be careful!
