Avalanche report for Monday 3 March 2025.

A generally favourable avalanche situation will prevail.

all day it applies low avalanche danger, so danger level one.

The older wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant, but they will be small in most cases. This applies in particular in the east. The avalanche prone locations are rare but are easy to recognise. Such avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular adjacent to ridgelines at elevated altitudes. More loose snow avalanches are possible as the day progresses, but they will be mostly small. On steep grassy slopes small to medium-sized gliding avalanches are possible. This applies in particular in the west and below approximately 2400 m.

And now the snowpack:

The somewhat older wind slabs are lying on soft layers in particular on steep shady slopes. As a consequence of mild temperatures and solar radiation a crust formed on the surface at the weekend. Steep sunny slopes, high altitudes: The surface of the snowpack will soften during the day. Only a small amount of snow is lying for the time of year.

The tendency for Tuesday 4 March 2025 indicates a steady avalanche danger.

Have a nice day and don't forget to be careful!
