Avalanche report for Friday 21 March 2025.

Slight increase in danger of wet avalanches in the course of the day.

all day it applies low avalanche danger, so danger level one.

all day, we have a wet snow problem. Especially in the aspects East to South to West.

As a consequence of warming during the day and the solar radiation, the likelihood of wet loose snow avalanches being released will increase a little. On extremely steep sunny slopes individual small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized natural wet avalanches are possible from the middle of the day. This applies in particular in the regions with a lot of snow.

And now the snowpack:

Shady slopes: The snowpack is largely stable; its surface consists of loosely bonded snow. This applies in particular above approximately 2200 m. The somewhat older wind slabs have bonded well with the old snowpack. Sunny slopes: The snowpack will be in most cases well bonded. As a consequence of low temperatures and low relative humidity a crust will form on the surface during the course of the night. The solar radiation will give rise as the day progresses to increasing softening of the snowpack on steep sunny slopes. Below the tree line only a little snow is now lying.

We have the following danger patterns: dp.10: springtime scenario.

The tendency for Saturday 22 March 2025 indicates an increasing avalanche danger.

Have a nice day and don't forget to be careful!
