Avalanche report for Sunday 30 March 2025.
Fresh wind slabs require caution. Weak layers in the old snowpack are treacherous.
all day it applies above 1900 meter moderate avalanche danger, so danger level two, below low avalanche danger, so danger level one.
all day, above 1900 meter, we have a wind slab problem. This in all aspects.
Furthermore, all day, above 2400 meter, we have a persistent weak layer problem. Especially in the aspects West to North to East.
Fresh wind slabs are to be evaluated with care and prudence in particular on very steep shady slopes above approximately 1900 m, especially adjacent to ridgelines. Restraint should be exercised because avalanches can sweep people along and give rise to falls.
And now the snowpack:
In some regions up to 5 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, will fall above approximately 1900 m. As a consequence of new snow and a strong to storm force wind from northerly directions, mostly small wind slabs will form especially adjacent to ridgelines.
The tendency for Monday 31 March 2025 indicates a steady avalanche danger.
Have a nice day and don't forget to be careful!
