Avalanche report for Wednesday 23 April 2025.

Wet snow represents the main danger.

all day it applies above 2800 meter low avalanche danger, so danger level one, below moderate avalanche danger, so danger level two.

all day, below 2800 meter, we have a wet snow problem. Especially in the aspects West to North to East.

Wet avalanches can in some places be released by a single winter sport participant. Wherever the night is overcast the danger will already exist in the morning. The avalanche prone locations are to be found especially on very steep west, north and east facing slopes below approximately 2800 m. Avalanches can release the saturated snowpack and reach medium size. Individual gliding avalanches can also occur, caution is to be exercised in particular on very steep grassy slopes in the regions with a lot of snow.

And now the snowpack:

Over a wide area a partly overcast night. The surface of the snowpack is frozen, but not to a significant depth and will soften quickly. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise as the day progresses to increasing softening of the snowpack. Up to high altitudes rain will fall in the afternoon in some regions. On steep sunny slopes as well as at low and intermediate altitudes hardly any snow is lying.

We have the following danger patterns: dp.10: springtime scenario, dp.3: rain.

The tendency for Thursday 24 April 2025 indicates a steady avalanche danger.

Have a nice day and don't forget to be careful!
