Avalanche report for Monday 28 April 2025.

Wind slabs at high altitude. Wet snow requires caution.

all day it applies above 2500 meter moderate avalanche danger, so danger level two, below low avalanche danger, so danger level one.

all day, above 2500 meter, we have a wind slab problem. Especially in the aspects North-West to North to North-East. Furthermore, all day, between 2000 meter and 2500 meter, we have a wet snow problem. Especially in the aspects West to North to East.

More recent wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant in some cases at elevated altitudes. Such avalanche prone locations are to be found adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. Mostly avalanches are only small. Little rain has fallen in some regions. This applies especially below approximately 2500 m. Wet avalanches can in very isolated cases be released by a single winter sport participant. As a consequence of warming, the natural avalanche activity will gradually increase. The avalanche prone locations are to be found especially on very steep west, north and east facing slopes below approximately 2500 m. Mostly wet avalanches are only small.

And now the snowpack:

A generally clear night. The surface of the snowpack will only just freeze and will soften during the day. The old snowpack is wet and its surface has a crust that is not capable of bearing a load. This applies on shady slopes in particular below approximately 2500 m.

We have the following danger patterns: dp.10: springtime scenario.

The tendency for Tuesday 29 April 2025 indicates a steady avalanche danger.

Have a nice day and don't forget to be careful!
