Avalanche forecast for Wednesday 10 December 2025.

Gliding snow requires caution.

all day it applies above 2400 meter low avalanche danger, so danger level one, below moderate avalanche danger, so danger level two.

all day, below 2400 meter, we have a gliding snow problem. This in all aspects.

More gliding avalanches are possible, even medium-sized ones. Caution is to be exercised in particular on steep grassy slopes below approximately 2400 m. Dry avalanches can still in isolated cases be released by a single winter sport participant, but they will be small in most cases. This applies in particular on very steep shady slopes above approximately 2400 m. As a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation only isolated mostly small wet loose snow avalanches are possible, in particular on extremely steep sunny slopes.

And now the snowpack:

Outgoing longwave radiation during the night will be good over a wide area. The surface of the snowpack will soften during the day, in particular on sunny slopes below approximately 2400 m, as well as in all aspects at low and intermediate altitudes. Below approximately 2000 m: The snowpack is wet all the way through. The somewhat older wind slabs are lying on surface hoar in some places on shady slopes above approximately 2400 m. This applies especially in the west.

We have the following danger patterns: dp.2: gliding snow, dp.8: surface hoar blanketed with snow.

The tendency for Thursday 11 December 2025 indicates a steady avalanche danger.

Have a nice day and don't forget to be careful!
