Avalanche forecast for Sunday 11 January 2026.
Wind slabs require caution.
all day it applies above 1800 meter moderate avalanche danger, so danger level two, below low avalanche danger, so danger level one.
all day, above 1800 meter, we have a wind slab problem. Especially in the aspects North-West to North to East.
As a consequence of new snow and a moderate wind from variable directions, avalanche prone wind slabs formed in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. These can be released even by a single winter sport participant in particular on northwest to north to east facing aspects above approximately 1800 m. Individual avalanche prone locations are to be found also on wind-protected south facing slopes. In isolated cases avalanches are medium-sized. Apart from the danger of being buried, restraint should be exercised in particular in view of the danger of avalanches sweeping people along and giving rise to falls.
And now the snowpack:
5 to 20 cm of snow has fallen since Friday.
The tendency for Monday 12 January 2026 indicates a steady avalanche danger.
Have a nice day and don't forget to be careful!
