Update of the avalanche forecast for Sunday 25 January 2026.
The new snow and wind slabs of the last few days must be evaluated with care and prudence.
all day it applies above the treeline moderate avalanche danger, so danger level two, below low avalanche danger, so danger level one.
all day, above the treeline, we have a wind slab problem. Especially in the aspects West to North to East.
Furthermore, all day, above the treeline, we have a persistent weak layer problem. This in all aspects.
The fresh snow as well as the mostly small wind slabs that are forming over a wide area are in some cases prone to triggering. These can be released in the weakly bonded old snow by a single winter sport participant.
And now the snowpack:
The snowpack will be generally subject to considerable local variations.
The tendency for Monday 26 January 2026 indicates an increasing avalanche danger.
Have a nice day and don't forget to be careful!
