Avalanche forecast for Monday 2 February 2026.
Weakly bonded old snow represents the main danger.
all day it applies above 1800 meter moderate avalanche danger, so danger level two, below low avalanche danger, so danger level one.
all day, above 1800 meter, we have a persistent weak layer problem. Especially in the aspects West to North to East.
Avalanches can be released in the weakly bonded old snow by a single winter sport participant. This applies in particular on west, north and east facing slopes above approximately 1800 m. Caution is to be exercised in particular in gullies and bowls, as well as at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack. In isolated cases avalanches are medium-sized.
And now the snowpack:
The new snow and wind slabs are lying on top of a weakly bonded old snowpack. The old snowpack is faceted.
The tendency for Tuesday 3 February 2026 indicates an increasing avalanche danger.
Have a nice day and don't forget to be careful!
