Avalanche forecast for Monday 23 February 2026.
Wind slabs and weakly bonded old snow require caution.
all day it applies above the treeline considerable avalanche danger, so danger level three, below moderate avalanche danger, so danger level two.
all day, above the treeline, we have a wind slab problem. Especially in the aspects West to North to East.
Furthermore, all day, above the treeline, we have a persistent weak layer problem. Especially in the aspects West to North to East.
Furthermore, all day, below 1800 meter, we have a wet snow problem. This in all aspects.
Avalanches can in some places be released easily and reach medium size. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain, caution is to be exercised in areas close to the tree line, and above the tree line. The wind slabs are covered with new snow in some cases and therefore difficult to recognise.
And now the snowpack:
Some snow will fall. The wind will be moderate to strong.
The tendency for Tuesday 24 February 2026 indicates a steady avalanche danger.
Have a nice day and don't forget to be careful!
