Avalanche forecast for Thursday 26 February 2026.

Wet snow requires caution.

earlier in the day it applies low avalanche danger, so danger level one. later in the day it applies moderate avalanche danger, so danger level two.

later in the day, we have a wet snow problem. Especially in the aspects East to South to West.

As a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation small to medium-sized wet avalanches are to be expected. This applies especially on very steep sunny slopes. The runout zones are to be treated with caution.

And now the snowpack:

Outgoing longwave radiation during the night will be good. The weather conditions as the day progresses will give rise to thorough wetting of the snowpack. Weak layers exist in the old snowpack in particular on west, north and east facing slopes.

The tendency for Friday 27 February 2026 indicates a steady avalanche danger.
