Avalanche forecast for Monday 2 March 2026.

Weakly bonded old snow and wet snow require caution.

all day it applies above 1900 meter moderate avalanche danger, so danger level two, below low avalanche danger, so danger level one.

all day, above 1900 meter, we have a persistent weak layer problem. Especially in the aspects North-West to North to North-East. Furthermore, all day, below 2000 meter, we have a wet snow problem. Especially in the aspects East to South to West.

Outgoing longwave radiation during the night will be severely restricted. Only isolated mostly small wet avalanches are possible below approximately 2000 m. Additionally in very isolated cases avalanches can also be released in the old snowpack and reach medium size. This applies even in case of a single winter sport participant in isolated cases, especially at elevated altitudes on northwest, north and northeast facing slopes. In their paths avalanches can entrain the wet snow. This extends the avalanche runout distances.

And now the snowpack:

The surface of the snowpack will freeze very little. The weather conditions gave rise to thorough wetting of the snowpack. Shady slopes: Distinct weak layers exist in the old snowpack on west, north and east facing slopes. This applies especially at elevated altitudes.

We have the following danger patterns: dp.10: springtime scenario, dp.1: deep persistent weak layer.

The tendency for Tuesday 3 March 2026 indicates a steady avalanche danger.

Have a nice day and don't forget to be careful!
