Avalanches can in isolated cases be released in the old snowpack and reach medium size in isolated cases on northwest, north and northeast facing slopes. They can be released, even by a single winter sport participant. In the late morning the likelihood of slab avalanches being released will increase in particular on steep southeast and southwest facing slopes below approximately 2400 m. As a consequence of warming during the day individual mostly small wet loose snow avalanches are possible.

Outgoing longwave radiation during the night was quite good over a wide area. The surface of the snowpack will freeze, but a strong crust will not form and will soften during the day. This applies in particular below approximately 2600 m. This applies especially above the tree line. Avalanche prone weak layers exist in the old snowpack in particular on northwest, north and northeast facing slopes. Sunny slopes: The solar radiation will give rise as the day progresses to rapid moistening of the snowpack.

The tendency for Saturday 14 March 2026 indicates a steady avalanche danger.
