Update of the avalanche forecast for Tuesday 17 March 2026.

Low avalanche danger will prevail.

all day, above 1900 meter, we have a persistent weak layer problem. Especially in the aspects North-West to North to North-East.

Dry avalanches can be released in near-ground layers, in particular by large additional loads. This applies in particular on northwest, north and northeast facing slopes above approximately 1900 m in steep rocky terrain. The avalanche prone locations are rare but are barely recognisable. In very isolated cases avalanches are medium-sized. As the day progresses the likelihood of wet snow slides being released will increase below approximately 1900 m.

And now the snowpack:

Some snow will fall in some regions. Above approximately 1900 m: Weak layers exist in the bottom section of the snowpack on northeast, north and northwest facing slopes. Below approximately 1900 m and steep sunny slopes: The old snowpack will be moist.

The tendency for Wednesday 18 March 2026 indicates a steady avalanche danger.
