Avalanche forecast for Friday 27 March 2026.
Wind slabs represent the main danger.
all day it applies above 1800 meter considerable avalanche danger, so danger level three, below low avalanche danger, so danger level one.
all day, above 1800 meter, we have a wind slab problem. This in all aspects.
The more recent wind slabs represent the main danger. Dry slab avalanches are to be expected. They can be released by small loads. Medium-sized avalanches are possible on wind-loaded slopes. This applies in all aspects above approximately 1800 m, caution is to be exercised in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls.
And now the snowpack:
As a consequence of new snow and a strong to storm force wind from northerly directions, further wind slabs will form in particular in gullies and bowls and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. The fresh wind slabs are lying on the unfavourable surface of an old snowpack in all aspects above approximately 1800 m.
The tendency for Saturday 28 March 2026 indicates a steady avalanche danger.
Have a nice day and don't forget to be careful!
