Avalanche forecast for Thursday 2 April 2026.

Wind slabs are to be avoided.

all day it applies above the treeline moderate avalanche danger, so danger level two, below low avalanche danger, so danger level one.

all day, above the treeline, we have a wind slab problem. This in all aspects.

The no longer entirely fresh wind slabs of the last few days can be released by a single winter sport participant. Such avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular in areas close to the tree line and above the tree line. Caution is to be exercised in particular on wind-loaded slopes, as well as in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. Additionally in very isolated cases avalanches can penetrate near-ground layers of the snowpack and reach medium size, especially on shady slopes at elevated altitudes.

And now the snowpack:

The sometimes strong wind has transported the new snow significantly. In some cases the various wind slabs have bonded poorly together. Isolated avalanche prone weak layers exist in the old snowpack, especially on shady slopes.

We have the following danger patterns: dp.6: cold, loose snow and wind, dp.1: deep persistent weak layer.

The tendency for Friday 3 April 2026 indicates a steady avalanche danger.

Have a nice day and don't forget to be careful!
