Avalanche forecast for Saturday 4 April 2026.

The hard wind slabs are lying on top of a weakly bonded old snowpack.

all day it applies low avalanche danger, so danger level one.

all day, above 1900 meter, we have a persistent weak layer problem. Especially in the aspects West to North to East.

Avalanches can be released, in particular by large loads and reach medium size. Caution is to be exercised in particular on very steep west, north and east facing slopes above approximately 1900 m. Especially transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack are unfavourable. The avalanche prone locations are rare. In addition as the day progresses mostly small wet loose snow avalanches are possible. Caution is to be exercised in particular on extremely steep sunny slopes, and at the base of rock walls.

And now the snowpack:

The gusty wind has transported the fresh and old snow significantly. Hard wind slabs formed. These are lying on top of a weakly bonded old snowpack in particular on west, north and east facing slopes above approximately 1900 m. The weather conditions will give rise to moistening of the snowpack.

We have the following danger patterns: dp.7: snow-poor zones in snow-rich surrounding.

The tendency for Sunday 5 April 2026 indicates a steady avalanche danger.

Have a nice day and don't forget to be careful!
