Update of the avalanche forecast for Saturday 4 April 2026.
The hard wind slabs are lying on top of a weakly bonded old snowpack. The avalanche prone locations are rare.
all day it applies low avalanche danger, so danger level one.
all day, above 2200 meter, we have a persistent weak layer problem. Especially in the aspects West to North to East.
Avalanches can be released, in particular by large loads and reach medium size. This applies in particular on very steep west, north and east facing slopes above approximately 2200 m. Especially transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack are unfavourable. The avalanche prone locations are rare.
And now the snowpack:
The gusty wind has transported the fresh and old snow significantly. Hard wind slabs formed. These are lying on top of a weakly bonded old snowpack in particular on west, north and east facing slopes above approximately 2200 m.
The tendency for Sunday 5 April 2026 indicates a steady avalanche danger.
Have a nice day and don't forget to be careful!
