Update of the avalanche forecast for Monday 6 April 2026.
As the day progresses the likelihood of wet avalanches being released will increase.
earlier in the day it applies low avalanche danger, so danger level one.
later in the day it applies low avalanche danger, so danger level one.
later in the day, we have a wet snow problem. Especially in the aspects East to South to West.
The avalanche conditions in the morning, after a clear night, are mostly favourable. As the day progresses the likelihood of wet avalanches being released will increase especially on extremely steep sunny slopes. Wet avalanches can occur in particular in starting zones where previous releases have taken place. Mostly these are small but can be released easily also by a single winter sport participant. Backcountry tours should be concluded timely.
And now the snowpack:
Outgoing longwave radiation during the night will be quite good in some case. The surface of the snowpack will freeze to form a strong crust and will soften quickly. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise as the day progresses to increasing and thorough wetting of the snowpack.
The tendency for Tuesday 7 April 2026 indicates a steady avalanche danger.
Have a nice day and don't forget to be careful!
