Furthermore, later in the day, above 2200 meter, we have a persistent weak layer problem. Especially in the aspects West to North to East.
As a consequence of warming during the day, the likelihood of moist and wet avalanches being released will increase significantly in particular on steep sunny slopes. This applies in all aspects below approximately 2400 m, and on steep south facing slopes also at high altitude. Wet avalanches can occur easily or triggered naturally. These can also penetrate down to the ground and reach medium size.
And now the snowpack:
Older wind slabs are lying on top of a weakly bonded old snowpack in particular on west, north and east facing slopes at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions. The snowpack will be subject to considerable local variations.
The tendency for Friday 10 April 2026 indicates a steady avalanche danger.
Have a nice day and don't forget to be careful!
