Wet snow represents the main danger. Increase in avalanche danger in the late morning.

earlier in the day it applies above 2400 meter low avalanche danger, so danger level one, below moderate avalanche danger, so danger level two. later in the day it applies above 2800 meter low avalanche danger, so danger level one, below moderate avalanche danger, so danger level two.

earlier in the day, below 2400 meter, we have a wet snow problem. This in all aspects. Furthermore, later in the day, below 2800 meter, we have a wet snow problem. This in all aspects.

The danger of moist and wet avalanches will already exist in the early morning. This applies in all aspects below approximately 2400 m. As a consequence of warming during the day and the solar radiation, the likelihood of avalanches being released will increase especially on very steep sunny slopes below approximately 2800 m. Avalanches can in isolated cases penetrate near-ground layers of the snowpack and reach medium size. In very isolated cases dry avalanches can also be released in the old snowpack. Avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on very steep shady slopes above approximately 2400 m.

And now the snowpack:

Outgoing longwave radiation during the night will be reduced at times. The surface of the snowpack will freeze very little and will soften quickly. The weather conditions will give rise to increasing and thorough wetting of the snowpack. Faceted weak layers exist in the bottom section of the old snowpack, especially on steep west, north and east facing slopes above approximately 2400 m.

The tendency for Sunday 12 April 2026 indicates a steady avalanche danger.
