later in the day it applies above 3000 meter moderate avalanche danger, so danger level two, below considerable avalanche danger, so danger level three.
earlier in the day, above 2500 meter, we have a persistent weak layer problem. Especially in the aspects North-West to North to North-East.
Furthermore, earlier in the day, below 2500 meter, we have a wet snow problem. This in all aspects.
Furthermore, later in the day, below 3000 meter, we have a wet snow problem. This in all aspects.
Furthermore, later in the day, above 2500 meter, we have a persistent weak layer problem. Especially in the aspects North-West to North to North-East.
As the day progresses the likelihood of wet avalanches being released will increase. Especially in places where the outgoing longwave radiation during the night is reduced the danger will increase earlier.
And now the snowpack:
Outgoing longwave radiation during the night will be reduced at times. The surface of the snowpack will soften quickly. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise to increasing and thorough wetting of the snowpack below approximately 3000 m.
The tendency for Sunday 19 April 2026 indicates a steady avalanche danger.
