Avalanche forecast for Tuesday 28 April 2026.

Wet snow requires caution.

all day it applies above 2600 meter low avalanche danger, so danger level one, below moderate avalanche danger, so danger level two.

all day, below 2600 meter, we have a wet snow problem. This in all aspects.

Wet avalanches can in isolated cases be released by a single winter sport participant. This applies especially below approximately 2600 m. As a consequence of new snow and a moderate wind, clearly visible wind slabs will form in particular in high Alpine regions. These are small and can only be released in isolated cases. Weak layers in the old snowpack can be released in isolated cases and mostly by large additional loads in particular on very steep shady slopes, in particular above approximately 2500 m.

And now the snowpack:

Outgoing longwave radiation during the night will be severely restricted at times. The surface of the snowpack will freeze very little and will soften quickly. Some rain will fall in the afternoon in some regions. Shady slopes above approximately 2500 m: Faceted weak layers exist in the bottom section of the old snowpack at elevated altitudes. On steep sunny slopes as well as below approximately 1800 m hardly any snow is lying.

We have the following danger patterns: dp.3: rain, dp.1: deep persistent weak layer.

The tendency for Wednesday 29 April 2026 indicates a steady avalanche danger.

Have a nice day and don't forget to be careful!
