Avalanche forecast for Saturday 28 February 2026.

Wet snow requires caution.

earlier in the day it applies low avalanche danger, so danger level one. later in the day it applies moderate avalanche danger, so danger level two.

later in the day, we have a wet snow problem. Especially in the aspects East to South to West.

As a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation small to medium-sized wet avalanches are to be expected. This applies especially on very steep sunny slopes. The runout zones are to be treated with caution.

And now the snowpack:

On Saturday it will be very mild over a wide area. Outgoing longwave radiation during the night will be good. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise as the day progresses to thorough wetting of the snowpack. Weak layers exist in the old snowpack in particular on west, north and east facing slopes.

We have the following danger patterns: dp.10: springtime scenario, dp.1: deep persistent weak layer.

The tendency for Sunday 1 March 2026 indicates a steady avalanche danger.

Have a nice day and don't forget to be careful!
