Update of the avalanche report for Friday 29 November 2024.

The conditions are critical.

all day it applies above 2600 meter high avalanche danger, so danger level four, below considerable avalanche danger, so danger level three.

all day, below 2600 meter, we have a wet snow problem. Especially in the aspects North-West to North to North-East. Furthermore, all day, we have a wind slab problem. Especially in the aspects North-West to North to South-East.

In all regions and in the other regions a mostly overcast night. The danger of wet snow slides and avalanches will increase. The no longer entirely fresh wind slabs are to be evaluated with care and prudence.

And now the snowpack:

Outgoing longwave radiation during the night will be severely restricted over a wide area. The surface of the snowpack will freeze very little and will already soften in the late morning.

The tendency for Saturday 30 November 2024 indicates a steady avalanche danger.
