Update of the avalanche forecast for Tuesday 31 March 2026.
Fresh wind slabs are to be evaluated with care and prudence.
all day it applies low avalanche danger, so danger level one.
all day, above the treeline, we have a wind slab problem. Especially in the aspects West to North to East.
Wind slabs are in some cases prone to triggering in particular on west to north to east facing aspects above the tree line. Avalanches can in very isolated cases penetrate near-ground layers of the snowpack reach medium size in isolated cases.
And now the snowpack:
The wind will be storm force in some cases. The wind will transport the snow. Avalanche prone wind slabs formed.
We have the following danger patterns: dp.6: cold, loose snow and wind, dp.1: deep persistent weak layer.The tendency for Wednesday 1 April 2026 indicates a decreasing avalanche danger.
