Danger description

The fresh and somewhat older wind slabs are in some cases prone to triggering. They are to be found in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. They are clearly recognisable to the trained eye. Avalanches can reach medium size. In little used backcountry terrain and in high Alpine regions the avalanche prone locations are a little more prevalent. Careful route selection is required.
