Moderate avalanche danger will be encountered over a wide area

In isolated cases avalanches can be triggered in near-to-surface layers of the old snowpack. Generally the avalanches sweep
along the amounts of fresh snow and freshly generated snowdrifts from this last week.
There were isolated showers in the Valais on Friday evening. Nocturnal skies were clear for the most part. During the morning
hours on Saturday it was predominantly sunny, in spite of high-altitude cloudbanks, subsequently there was convective cloud
build-up.
In the Valais, a few centimetres from place to place.
At midday at 2000 m, between -2 °C in the western and the southern regions and -5 °C in the eastern regions.

Winds were blowing at light-to-moderate strength, from southerly directions during the night, during the daytime shifting
to northerly;

in the western Prealps, a moderate-velocity bise wind was blowing.
Nighttime skies in the western regions will be partly clear, overcast in the other regions of Switzerland. During the daytime
skies will be predominantly overcast, accompanied by showers in the northern and eastern regions more than anywhere else.
The snowfall level will lie at approximately 1200 m.
In the northern and eastern regions, only a few centimetres; in the eastern sector of the northern flank of the Alps, up to
10 cm from place to place.
At midday at 2000 m, between -2 °C in the western and southern regions and -4 °C in the eastern regions.
Winds will be light-to-moderate from the northeast.
On Monday skies will frequently be overcast with isolated showers anticipated. On Tuesday it will be quite sunny and somewhat
milder. Winds will remain light.
The danger of dry-snow avalanches will continue to slowly recede. The danger of wet-snow avalanches will increase somewhat
during the course of the day on Tuesday.
