Danger description

The fresh snow of Wednesday and in particular the wind slabs formed by the strong westerly wind are in some cases still prone to triggering. As a consequence of new snow and wind, further wind slabs will form in the afternoon. At elevated altitudes the avalanche prone locations are more prevalent. Single winter sport participants can release avalanches. In many cases these are medium-sized.
Ski touring calls for experience in the assessment of avalanche danger.

Wet avalanches as day progresses

As the snowfall level rises moist avalanches are to be expected in the afternoon.
