"avalancheActivityComment": "As a consequence of new snow and a sometimes strong wind from southwesterly directions, wind slabs will form in particular in gullies and bowls as well as at elevated altitudes. In the course of the day these will increase in size moderately. In many cases wind slabs are lying on the soft surface of an old snowpack. Avalanches can in some places be released by a single winter sport participant, but they will be small in most cases. Even a small avalanche can sweep people along and give rise to falls."

"snowpackStructureComment": "In western and northern regions there is still little snow on the ground. In the Jura and Prealps, fresh snow is falling mostly on bare ground. Most of the snow on the ground (30 to 50 cm) lies in the Upper Valais sector of the Main Alpine Ridge, in northern Ticino and in the central and southern parts of Grisons. \n On shady slopes the snowpack is expansively metamorphosed (faceted) for the most part, thus, it is generating an unfavourable snow base. On sunny slopes there are are variety of crusts inside the snowpack. The surface is hardened in some places. Steep south-facing slopes up to approximately 2200 m, in the northern and western regions up to 2600 m in some places, have been free of snow to a great extent.",

"avalancheActivityComment": "As a consequence of new snow and a strong southwesterly wind, wind slabs will form. In many cases wind slabs are lying on the soft surface of an old snowpack. Avalanches can in some places be released by a single winter sport participant and reach medium size. Apart from the danger of being buried, restraint should be exercised in particular in view of the danger of avalanches sweeping people along and giving rise to falls."
