In all aspects above approximately 1800m.

In all aspects above approximately 1800m.

Danger description

The fresh snow and the wind slabs are lying on top of a weakly bonded old snowpack. Individual natural avalanches are further possible.
Single winter sport participants can release avalanches. Remotely triggered avalanches are possible. Avalanches can be triggered in near-ground layers and reach large size. This applies especially on west, north and east facing slopes above approximately 2000 m. Backcountry touring and other off-piste activities call for extensive experience in the assessment of avalanche danger and restraint.

Gliding avalanches

Below approximately 2000 m medium-sized gliding avalanches are possible.
