New snow, wet avalanches
Avalanche prone locations
In all aspects at all altitudes.
Danger description
As a consequence of new snow and a strong to storm force northwesterly wind, deep wind slabs formed at elevated altitudes. The rain gave rise to thorough wetting of the snowpack at high altitude. The natural activity of avalanches will decrease. Individual large to very large natural avalanches are, however, still possible. This applies in particular above approximately 2600 m. More medium-sized and large natural wet avalanches are possible below approximately 2600 m.
Exposed parts of transportation routes can be endangered occasionally. The conditions are very critical for backcountry touring and other off-piste activities outside marked and open pistes.
