The freezing level will rise from around 200 metres to around 800 metres by dawn falling back to 500 metres by the end of the day. Moderate South-Westerly winds will back Southerly and increase in strength to very strong for a period in the early morning gradually decreasing to moderate and backing West-South-West by midday. \nObserved Weather Influences: A dry cloudy day with moderate to strong Westerly winds. It was freezing at most levels with a midday summit temperature of -6 degrees Celsius. \nObservedSnowStability: Drifting snow is leading to continued development of unstable windslab in steep wind sheltered locations such as corrie rims and gully exits.Greatest accumulations are on North-West through North to East aspects above 800 metres, West and South East aspects are also affected due to crossloading. Cornices above all these aspects are fragile. Isolated instabilities in steep banks at lower elevations above 600 metres remain. The avalanche hazard is Considerable."

"avalancheActivityComment": "Forecast Snow Stability: Changing wind directions will result in unstable windslab on many aspects mainly above 900 metres. Greatest accumulations will be on North-West through North to East aspects and fragile cornices will be present above these aspects. There will also be a period of wet snow instability during the latter part of the night mainly on North to East aspects below 900 metres; stability here will improve during the day. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable",
"snowpackStructureComment": "Forecast Weather Influences: Moderate South-West winds backing South-South-East and become strong for a time overnight before veering South-Westerly and easing during the day. A dry evening followed by showers, falling as snow only above 900 metres for a period during the night but then to gradually lower levels through the day. The freezing level rises to 1100 metres overnight, then dropping to 600 metres by the end of the period.\nObserved Weather Influences: It was a cold day with snow showers and moderate West-South-Westerly winds\nObservedSnowStability: Areas of moderately and poorly bonded windslab are present in wind sheltered locations. Greatest accumulations are on North to East aspects above 900m. Cornices also forming above these aspects. Aspects exposed to the wind are generally stable. The avalanche hazard is Considerable."
