Winds will be gale force and mainly from the West, veering West-North-Westerly in the afternoon. \nObserved Weather Influences: A day of blustery showers falling initially as rain followed later by sleet and snow. The freezing level gradually lowered from 900 metres to 200 metres by the end of the day. Winds were gale force and mainly West-South-Westerly veering Westerly in the afternoon. \nObservedSnowStability: Poorly bonded windslab continued to accumulate through the day on North through East to South-East aspects above 850 metres. Gale force West-South-Westerly winds. Freezing level rose to 900 metres during the early afternoon. \nObservedSnowStability: Snow showers and drifting have formed localised accumulations of unstable windslab in wind sheltered locations on North through East to South-East aspects above 900 metres. Steep, sharply defined features such as gully tops, burn lines and corrie rims are holding deepest amounts, but depth and distribution are both fairly limited at present. Elsewhere there is a cosmetic covering of new snow with exposed locations wind scoured. The avalanche hazard is Moderate."

Although these areas of windslab will not be particularly extensive, they are expected to be poorly bonded. Below this altitude localised shallow accumulations will form. On other aspects the snowpack will tend to be very shallow. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.",

The freezing level will be around 400 metres. \nObserved Weather Influences: It was a showery day with snow falling above 800 metres. The freezing was around 1000 metres through much of the day. Strong Westerly winds. \nObservedSnowStability: Areas of moderately bonded windslab have been deposited in wind sheltered locations on North-East to South-East aspects above 1000 metres. In general these areas are not particularly deep or extensive. Below 1000 metres the snowpack is wet and stability has improved. On other aspects the snowpack tends to be very shallow. The avalanche hazard is Moderate."
