Avalanche prone locations
In particular in southwest to north to southeast facing aspects above approximately 2200m.

In particular in southwest to north to southeast facing aspects above approximately 2200m.

Danger description

As a consequence of new snow and a storm force northwesterly wind, deep wind slabs formed on Monday. The new snow and wind slabs are lying on top of a weakly bonded old snowpack. Even single snow sport participants can release avalanches. Avalanches can be released in the old snowpack and reach very large size in isolated cases. This applies in particular at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack. Remotely triggered avalanches are possible in isolated cases.
The conditions are precarious for backcountry touring and other off-piste activities. Caution and restraint are recommended.

Wet avalanches as day progresses

As a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation moist loose snow avalanches are to be expected. Individual gliding avalanches are possible.
