New snow
Avalanche prone locations
In all aspects above approximately 1800m.
Danger description
The new snow of the last few days is in some cases still prone to triggering. Single snow sport participants can release avalanches. These can in isolated cases reach large size. Ski touring calls for experience in the assessment of avalanche danger.
As a consequence of a strengthening westerly wind, clearly visible wind slabs will form in the afternoon. These are to be avoided in steep terrain.
Wet avalanches as day progresses
On steep sunny slopes more frequent moist snow slides are to be expected as the day progresses.
On steep grassy slopes small and medium-sized gliding avalanches are possible in particular at intermediate altitudes.
