During the mostly clear night the snow surface will freeze to form a crust, which will be strong over a wide area in the morning.
The crust will thaw as the day progresses, and the danger of wet snow avalanches will increase a little.
The snowpack is thoroughly moist up to elevated altitudes in the high Alpine regions on south facing slopes, below approximately
3000 m on west and east facing slopes, and below approximately 2400 m on north facing slopes.
Individual locations prone to dry avalanches are still to be found in particular on very steep north facing slopes above approximately
2600 m.
