<avActivityHighlights>Fresh wind slabs above approximately 2300 m. <br/> Remotely triggered avalanches are possible.</avActivityHighlights>
<avActivityComment>As a consequence of a moderate wind from northwesterly directions, visible wind slabs formed since Monday, 5 December in all aspects, especially above approximately 2300 m. <br/> Wind slabs are to be found also areas not adjacent to ridgelines. <br/> As a consequence of the moderate northwesterly wind individual natural dry avalanches are possible as the day progresses, even medium-sized ones. <br/> <br/> Numerous weak layers exist in the snowpack especially on steep northeast, north and northwest facing slopes. Between approximately 2300 and 2700 m the likelihood of avalanches is quite high. Even single winter sport participants can release avalanches very easily, including medium-sized ones. <br/> Whumpfing sounds and the formation of shooting cracks when stepping on the snowpack and artificially triggered avalanches confirm the unfavourable bonding of the snowpack. Careful route selection and spacing between individuals are recommended.</avActivityComment>
<snowpackStructureComment>Below approximately 2200 m from a snow sport perspective, in most cases insufficient snow is lying. The new snow of the weekend is lying on surface hoar in some places above approximately 2300 m. Numerous weak layers exist deep in the snowpack on steep shady slopes. <br/> Adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. <br/> In the northwest and in the southwest below approximately 2500 m a little snow is lying on south facing slopes.</snowpackStructureComment>

<avActivityComment>Between approximately 1300 and 2000 m there are 10 to 20 cm of snow. Here from a snow sport perspective, in most cases insufficient snow is lying. Above approximately 2000 m there are 30 to 50 cm of snow, and even as much as 80 cm in some localities. The wind was strong at times in some localities. In particular in gullies and bowls and behind abrupt changes in the terrain as well as at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions precarious wind slabs formed, especially above approximately 2000 m. The snowpack will be subject to considerable local variations above approximately 2200 m. At low and intermediate altitudes a low danger will prevail. At high altitudes and in high Alpine regions the avalanche prone locations are more prevalent and larger. <snowpackStructureComment>The Avalanche Warning Service currently has only a small amount of information that has been collected in the field. Faceted weak layers exist in the snowpack in particular on steep shady slopes. The new snow and wind slabs of the last few days are lying on the unfavourable surface of an old snowpack in particular on northwest to north to east facing aspects above approximately 2200 m. The mostly small wind slabs are to be avoided as far as possible in particular on steep shady slopes at elevated altitudes. These are to be found especially adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls and generally at high altitudes.</snowpackStructureComment>

<avActivityHighlights>New snow and wind slabs above approximately 2200 m.</avActivityHighlights>
<avActivityComment>In all regions above approximately 2000 m there are 50 to 70 cm of snow, and even more in some localities. The wind slabs are to be found in particular on north, east and southeast facing slopes and generally in the high Alpine regions. They can in some places be released, even by a single winter sport participant. <br/> Several small and medium-sized moist and wet avalanches are possible as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation. This applies in particular on steep sunny slopes.</avActivityComment>
<snowpackStructureComment>The new snow of the weekend is lying on the unfavourable surface of an old snowpack in particular on shady slopes above approximately 2200 m. <br/> In all regions at elevated altitudes snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind.</snowpackStructureComment>

The old snowpack will be subject to considerable local variations. The snowpack will be generally well bonded. Until Wednesday the weather will be mild. <avActivityHighlights>New snow and wind slabs require caution. At elevated altitudes a considerable danger will prevail. At low and intermediate altitudes thus far only a little snow is lying.</avActivityHighlights>
Even single backcountry tourers can release avalanches in some places, including medium-sized ones. Remotely triggered avalanches are possible in isolated cases.</avActivityComment>
