Snow showers through the forecast period falling mainly above 300 metres on very strong West-North-Westerly winds.\nObserved Weather Influences: Last night heavy thaw affected the area, rain at levels with summit temperatures at around plus 3 degrees celsius accompanied by very strong South-Westerly winds. This morning was slightly drier and cooler with a dusting of summit snow. Precipitation increased as the day progressed with some more snow mainly above 950 metres these deposits were not deep or extensive but continuing to develop. Midday summit temperature was around minus one degrees celsius and the South-Westerly winds intensified.\nObservedSnowStability: New snow accumulations are not deep or extensive but some shallow windslab may start to develop in wind sheltered locations. Most affected areas will be sheltered gullies, scarp slopes and steep coire rims with a North to East aspect above 900 metres. Adjoining aspects may also be affected due to cross loading. Small cornices also developing above similar aspects. Older snowpack generally firm and stable at higher elevations but diminishing at lower levels. The avalanche hazard is Low."
