Gale force winds will be from the South-West or West. A band of snow, turning briefly to rain below about 1000 metres, will cross the area during the morning. This will be followed by snow showers.\nObserved Weather Influences: There were heavy snow showers overnight and through the day. The freezing level was around 600 metres. Gale force winds were from the West.\nObservedSnowStability: Areas of unstable windslab have been deposited in wind sheltered locations on mainly North-East to South-East aspects above 900 metres. Fresh cornices above these aspects are unstable. Evidence of recent avalanche activity was noted on an Easterly aspect at around 1000 metres. Windward aspects tend to be scoured and stable.
