On a few steep slopes with smooth ground, such as meadow slopes or rock slabs, gliding avalanches can occur. In addition, as the snowpack softens, wet loose snow or slab avalanches can release themselves in extremely steep terrain or be triggered by individuals in very steep terrain. The avalanches reach medium size. The focus of avalanche activity is at midday and in the afternoon."
