Avalanche Problem
New snow and gliding snow are to be critically assessed. Exposed parts of transportation routes can be endangered.
On steep grassy slopes gliding avalanches are possible at any time, even very large ones in isolated cases. This applies in all aspects below approximately 2600 m.
The new snow and wind slabs are prone to triggering in all aspects above the tree line. From origins in starting zones at higher altitudes individual natural dry avalanches are possible, even very large ones in isolated cases. The number and size of avalanche prone locations will increase with altitude.
The current avalanche situation calls for very extensive experience in the assessment of avalanche danger and great restraint.
Snowpack
dp.2: gliding snow
dp.6: cold, loose snow and wind
25 to 50 cm of snow will fall on Tuesday. From the Sexten Dolomites to the Lienzer Dolomites up to 80 cm of snow will fall. Over a wide area strong southeasterly wind. In many cases new snow and wind slabs are lying on soft layers. This applies at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions.
Tendency
The avalanche danger will decrease gradually. Caution is to be exercised in areas with glide cracks.

Wind slabs and gliding snow require caution.
On steep grassy slopes gliding avalanches are to be expected, in particular medium-sized ones. This applies in all aspects below approximately 2600 m.
In addition the fresh and older wind slabs above the tree line are easily triggered. The number and size of avalanche prone locations will increase with altitude. The current avalanche situation calls for experience in the assessment of avalanche danger. In the regions exposed to heavier precipitation the avalanche danger is a little higher.

dp.6: cold, loose snow and wind
Up to 10 cm of snow will fall on Tuesday. In the Gurgler Range up to 40 cm of snow will fall. Over a wide area strong southeasterly wind. The sometimes storm force wind has transported a lot of snow. New snow and wind slabs are lying on soft layers. This applies at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions.
Tendency
Further decrease in avalanche danger. Caution is to be exercised in areas with glide cracks.

Avalanche Problem
New snow and gliding snow are to be critically assessed. Exposed parts of transportation routes can be endangered.
On steep grassy slopes wet and gliding avalanches are to be expected at any time, even large ones in isolated cases.
The new snow and wind slabs of the last few days can be released easily, even by a single winter sport participant, in all aspects above the tree line. With the onset of the snowfall, the natural avalanche activity will gradually increase [Emtpy]. The number and size of avalanche prone locations will increase with altitude.
The current avalanche situation calls for extensive experience in the assessment of avalanche danger and careful route selection.

Caution is to be exercised in areas with glide cracks. Gradual decrease in avalanche danger as a consequence of the ceasing of precipitation.

Wind slabs and gliding snow represent the main danger.
On steep grassy slopes wet and gliding avalanches are to be expected at any time, but they will be mostly small.
The new snow and wind slabs of the last few days can be released easily, even by a single winter sport participant, in all aspects above the tree line. The number and size of avalanche prone locations will increase with altitude.
The current avalanche situation calls for experience in the assessment of avalanche danger.

15 to 30 cm of snow, and up to 50 cm in some localities, will fall on Tuesday. Over a wide area moderate southeasterly wind. In many cases new snow and wind slabs are lying on soft layers. This applies in particular above the tree line.
Tendency
The avalanche danger will decrease gradually.
