Fresh wind slabs are to be evaluated critically. In addition an increasing number of medium-sized loose snow avalanches are to be expected.
As a consequence of new snow and a strong to storm force wind, further wind slabs will form. These can be released even by a single winter sport participant in particular on very steep west, north and east facing slopes. Caution is to be exercised in particular in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. The prevalence of avalanche prone locations and likelihood of triggering will increase with altitude. Medium-sized natural avalanches are possible especially in the regions exposed to heavier precipitation. This applies in particular on very steep shady slopes adjacent to ridgelines at elevated altitudes.
More frequent loose snow avalanches are to be expected, even medium-sized ones, in the event of prolonged bright spells especially.
In addition a latent danger of gliding avalanches exists. This applies on steep grassy slopes below approximately 2600 m. Mostly avalanches are medium-sized. Areas with glide cracks are to be avoided.
Backcountry touring calls for experience and a certain restraint.
