The conditions are sometimes precarious for snow sport activities outside marked and open pistes. Single backcountry tourers can release avalanches easily, including large ones.

As a consequence of new snow and a strong wind, easily released wind slabs formed in the last few days in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. Weak layers exist in the snowpack in particular on steep shady slopes. On steep slopes and in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain slab avalanches are possible, even large ones.

In some localities 5 to 15 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, will fall above approximately 1500 m. The various wind slabs have bonded poorly with the old snowpack. In particular above the tree line snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind.

The snow sport conditions outside marked and open pistes are to some extent unfavourable.

Single winter sport participants can release avalanches easily, including large ones. Avalanche prone locations for dry avalanches are to be found in particular on steep west, north and east facing slopes above the tree line, also on steep shady slopes in areas close to the tree line. The avalanche prone locations are covered with new snow and are therefore barely recognisable, even to the trained eye. Whumpfing sounds and the formation of shooting cracks when stepping on the snowpack and fresh avalanches serve as an alarm indicating the danger. Remotely triggered avalanches are possible.
In addition medium-sized gliding avalanches are possible. This applies on steep grassy slopes below approximately 2400 m.

Defensive route selection is important.

Avalanche prone locations for dry avalanches are to be found in particular on steep west, north and northeast facing slopes above approximately 2000 m. Mostly the avalanches are medium-sized. The avalanche situation is more favourable in highly frequented off-piste terrain.
In addition medium-sized gliding avalanches are possible.

The wind slabs of the last few days can be released by a single winter sport participant in isolated cases in particular on very steep northwest, north and northeast facing slopes above approximately 2000 m. The avalanches are rather small. Caution is to be exercised in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls.

Avalanche prone locations for dry avalanches are to be found in particular on steep west, north and east facing slopes above the tree line. The avalanche prone locations are covered with new snow and are difficult to recognise.

Individual gliding avalanches and wet snow slides are possible, especially on steep grassy slopes below the tree line.

As a consequence of new snow and a strong to storm force wind from southwesterly directions, avalanche prone wind slabs formed. This applies in particular at high altitude.
New snow is lying on a moist old snowpack. This applies below the tree line.
