The new snow and wind slabs must be evaluated with care and prudence. Weak layers deep in the old snowpack necessitate caution and restraint.
The fresh snow and the wind slabs that are forming in particular adjacent to ridgelines must be evaluated with care and prudence in particular on steep shady slopes above approximately 2200 m. Winter sport participants can release avalanches in isolated cases, including medium-sized ones. Avalanches can in isolated cases penetrate deep layers and reach quite a large size. Weak layers in the old snowpack are difficult to recognise. The avalanche prone locations for dry avalanches are to be found in particular on steep west, north and east facing slopes above the tree line.
Snowpack
dp.6: cold, loose snow and wind dp.1: deep persistent weak layer
In some regions in some localities up to 20 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, will fall. The wind slabs will be deposited on a weakly bonded old snowpack in particular on west to north to east facing aspects above the tree line. Above the tree line snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. The new snow is bonding only slowly with the old snowpack. Shady slopes where weaknesses exist in the old snowpack are dangerous. As a consequence of mild temperatures and solar radiation the snowpack consolidated during the last few days, especially on sunny slopes and at intermediate altitudes.
Tendency
Weakly bonded old snow is to be evaluated critically.

Weak layers deep in the old snowpack represent the main danger.
Winter sport participants can release avalanches in isolated cases, with a large load in most cases. Avalanches can in very isolated cases penetrate deep layers and reach medium size. The fresh snow and the wind slabs that are forming in particular adjacent to ridgelines must be evaluated with care and prudence in particular on steep shady slopes and at high altitude. The avalanche prone locations for dry avalanches are to be found in particular on steep west, north and east facing slopes above the tree line.

On shady slopes a moderate avalanche danger will be encountered in some regions.
In some regions in some localities up to 15 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, will fall. Avalanches can in isolated cases be released, mostly by large loads in isolated cases, caution is to be exercised in particular in the regions with a lot of snow, and at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack, when entering gullies and bowls for example. The avalanche prone locations for dry avalanches are to be found in particular on steep northwest, north and northeast facing slopes above the tree line. Mostly avalanches are small.

Tendency
The avalanche prone locations are rather rare. At elevated altitudes a moderate avalanche danger will be encountered in some regions.
